Waterline Extension Across Little River

Picture
Greenhill Engineering Consultants, Inc. was requested to design a water line to extend from the Jacksonville State University Field School across the newly constructed G.E. Hill Bridge over Little River, to County Road 103 in Cherokee County. GEC was hired to design, manage the bid phase, manage construction, and assist with project inspection. This project required extensive coordination with the Alabama Department of Transportation and the Federal Park Service. As seen in the photo's the exposed ductile iron piping was painted as to match the new bridge girders. The project is the first phase of an effort to serve more than 150 households in Cherokee County with a high quality potable water for domestic use.
